Crazy for Christ Ministries

The History

Crazy for Christ Ministry (C.F.C) is an inter-denominational Christian ministry with a mandate to “Empower people to live for God”. It came about as a group of fourteen students from Anglican Senior High School, Kumasi led by Joseph Boahen went for a vacation retreat in April 1998.

It was at the retreat that the Lord instructed Joseph Boahen to continue to organise students during vacations for camp meetings in order for Him to empower them to live for Him.

Right after the first retreat, a massive evangelism campaign was launched on the campus of Anglican Senior High School, Kumasi-Ghana and a lot of souls were won. Like the stroke of a matchin a harmattan season, revival flames erupted suddenly, and burnt across the entire school as well as other senior high schools such as Yaa Asantewaa Girl’s School, Kumasi High School, and T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School among others within a short period of time.

In June 1998, a twenty one day fasting andprayers was declared and Crazy for Christ Ministry was officially inaugurated. Friday all-night services were quickly introduced and held every fortnight at Amankwatia School to help the camp meeting participants who lived around Kumasi and its precincts keep their love and fire for the Lordablaze.

In the year 2000the ministry changed the fortnight all-night services to weekly vigils at Obiri Yeboah School until 2006. Again, in 2006 the weekly vigils were also changed to Saturday revival meetings. As the ministry grew in number, maintaining the souls became a concern for the leadership. The Lord therefore led us to use the home cell system to serve as a new channel tomaintain and disciple the new converts to help withthe work of the ministry by way of winning and building new people up for the Lord.

Meanwhile, the termly camp meetings have continued unabated with several changes in terms of venue as and when the Lord has led us.

In all, Crazy for Christ ministry now has a network of over fifty-two campus branches in the second cycle institutions aswell as in fifteen tertiary institutions. We also have chapters in several regions in Ghana.

In addition, the ministry has acquired twenty plots of land at Piase near Ejisu and all is set to build a permanent camp ground. This facility is set to be the centre, from which the revival flames will travel across the world. The empowerment mandate is the focus of C.F.C ministry and everything is set to doggedly pursue it.
